The Regions Real Estate team spent our Monday morning volunteering at Hands on Hartford, a social service nonprofit organization that serves Hartford's neediest residents in the areas of food, housing, and health. The team assisted with the Backpack Nutrition Program, which provides food for the kids who receive free lunch throughout the week at school, but struggle to find enough food to eat on the weekends. Backpacks contain four meals, drinks and snacks, which are distributed to children each Friday during the school year. This program serves over 200 children at 6 local schools in the city. The Regions team helped to assemble snow activity kits, which will be handed out with the backpacks to provide a fun snow day activity for the kids. The kits included a DIY snow globe kit, coloring book with crayons, and an informational "what is snow?" reading.
